I only happened to look at a new phone last night, put in my basket, but I didn't check out as was just browsing.
According to Very I did check out and tried to put it on credit..

It's taken me since 9am this morning to try and get this sorted.. seems oh so shady to me..

Could the cat have stood on your phone?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 05/11/2019 13:13

How did it know your name and address? Magic I guess.

WatchingFromTheWings · 05/11/2019 13:25

I've had Very for 2 years and put stuff in my basket all the time. Never had a problem.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 05/11/2019 13:28

How did it know your name and address?

Cause I was signed in at the time.

It's bizarre and Very don't know how it happened either, I got no email along the lines of "Thanks for your purchase" etc.

Luckily they needed more info before they could open a credit account and emailed me to speak to a member of the Authorisation Team.

Whole things weird.

I have had no issue with them at all. Perhaps it was just a random glitch? I can't see how it would benefit them though as you could just return it surely?

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 05/11/2019 14:27

No idea Barbed, I'm glad it didn't go through tho. Seems it's only me tho so.. yeah.

Glad no one else is having issue.

My dh said tome yesterday that I had an email from very about change my password, I said I don’t have a very account, dh said I didn’t think you did.

Obviously another scam going on this time of year.

GypsumFantastic · 05/11/2019 15:48

I can’t exactly remember the process for buying from Very but I do remember it being surprisingly fast. Like, you expect to be taken to another page before completing the purchase and BOOM you’ve bought it

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 05/11/2019 16:32

GypsumFantastic

Maybe that was it then. I'm used to other sites that have many stages, basket, payments, address, confirm.

Sounds like a glitch and they sorted it as soon as they were made aware? Ive had very for years and no problems even when ive had problems they have sorted them straight away.

MepsiPax · 05/11/2019 17:27

How did it take payment if you hadn't given them any credit/debit card details?
