Do you think house prices will go up or down after Brexit? (South-East England) and why?

I think once Brexit is done, people will stop being so unnecessarily cautious and house prices will do well. What do you think OP?

Down

Youngatheart00 · 04/11/2019 19:08

Reason - macro economic weakness and weak consumer confidence

We still don't know what Brexit will look like, if it happens at all.

CactusAndCacti · 04/11/2019 19:15

If Brexit happens, down. High chance of some kind of recession. At the 'best' they will remain static, and not go up.

CuteOrangeElephant · 04/11/2019 19:16

Up - because of the weakening of the pound it will be an attractive investment.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/11/2019 19:19

I think if they go up it will be a blip. I think there’s a bloody Great Recession round the corner which has little to do with Brexit, it’ll be worldwide.

Movinghouseatlast · 04/11/2019 19:20

Why do you think there is a worldwide recession looming?

Youngatheart00 · 04/11/2019 19:23

An interesting point re global slowdown. In my opinion Far East slowdown and (valid) environmental concerns both factors.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/11/2019 19:25

Because it’s long overdue. Because the indicators are starting to flash. Yield curve etc.

NigellasGuest · 04/11/2019 19:26

Will London continue to drop more than other areas of South East?

ForalltheSaints · 04/11/2019 19:47

I doubt it. House building is still very low.

You are assuming there is no second referendum of course.

Witchend · 04/11/2019 19:52

Down. Rapidly. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing overall.
Unlike Brexit.

historysock · 04/11/2019 19:58

Down.

Theworldisfullofgs · 04/11/2019 20:01

Down.
My very reliable friend who studies these things, thinks it (everything) will get worse until 2025. He studies generational theory stuff and predicted financial crisis.

Theworldisfullofgs · 04/11/2019 20:02

Hi view is Brexit is just making it worse.
