Where to go for a reasonable priced holiday

Next year we want to go somewhere outside of the eurozone, where the exchange rate would mean we didn't pay a fortune to eat out. We like a bit of sun and a bit of beach but also a bit of something to visit of interest. Also not too expensive / far to fly to. Any suggestions?

Should add I'm thinking of going in school summer holidays.

You sound like you are describing Turkey to me.

Interesting thanks. Anywhere in particular you would recommend?

I love Turkey and it fits your description perfectly - have a look at Olu Deniz and places around that area,

Also Bulgaria - I went for the first time this year and really enjoyed it. No euro, cheap to eat out, lovely weather.

North Cyprus. Beautiful place, lovely people, food is wonderfully fresh and incredibly cheap. Lots to explore. Far fewer tourists than Cyprus and Greece. As an example, we went to the ruins of Salamis which are pretty much Pompeii-level preservation and quality and saw three other people there in an entire morning. It was December right enough but having been herded in crowds around just about any other heritage site anywhere I’ve ever been, it was phenomenal.

It is not child friendly though! I would love to go back when DS is older.

Try sozopol or nessebar in Bulgaria. Cheap as chips and absolutely beautiful

We loved Kalkan if you are looking at Turkey.
