Best device for 4yo to listen to audiobooks in her room?

Having had long running difficulties getting 4yo dd to settle to sleep, she seems to like audio books and is particularly enjoying some Peppa pig bedtime stories from audible. But I don’t like having to leave my phone in the room with her til she’s asleep!

What’s the best option? What’s the modern equivalent to the old Kids cassette player in their bedroom?
The older kids have a Sonos speaker each but it’s a bit of a pain as they are not voice controlled so either we have to do it on our phones or they do it but then they’re not meant to have phones in bed. And it’s tricky for 4yo if there’s a babysitter.

Would an echo dot work? Would she be able to could control it and play stuff from audible and music from Spotify?

Or an MP3 player? We have a few old cd audiobooks. Or should I just get a cheap CD player? ( but with my eldest dd the cds got scratched and damaged).

Any suggestions on future proof solutions greatly appreciated

My DD has an echo dot in her room, and listens to audio books (from my audible account) at bedtime. You can ask the dot to play the audio book while you're in her room, you could do it from your phone, or you could do it from another room (if you have another device in another room). You can also create playlists in your audible account and just ask the dot to 'play Mary's bedtime stories'.
