James Stunt gave fake art for Prince Charles

Apparently James Stunt gave forged pictures to Prince Charles for display at Dumfries House. They were valued at over £105 million and included a Monet, Picasso and Dali. The palace say they were returned after it was discovered they were fake. I never believed he was a multi billionaire as the press liked to call him and always thought he was spending Petra’s money. Since the divorce he seems in debt. Who would have the nerve to send fake paintings to be displayed for the public?

I’m strangely fascinated by James stunt, even though he’s just a narcissist so shouldn’t be hugely interesting.
I think he’s a chronic drug addict and has obtained his assets fraudulently tbh.

Anyway aside from that, it’s possible that the paintings were purchased in good faith- fakes are being sold as originals all the time. Since Prince Charles’ staff fell for it too I assume they were pretty good ones

I’m amazed Bernie hasn’t had him fed to the pigs.

Surely it was so blindingly obvious he was a conman.

He commissioned the paintings from Tony Tetro so definitely knew they were fake. It has come to light as Tony Tetro admitted it.

Also I think her new fiancé seems no better. Second hand car salesman who moved in with her after 5 mins. Are they living with each other a year? He posted on Instagram praising the estate agent that sold ‘our home’ aka the 100 million manor in LA and another that ‘our home’ broke sales records.

I find Bernie daughters oddly fascinating. So pretty with so much money. Yet they pick up husbands I would not touch with a barge pole, and are just so materialistic. As if hand bags and shoes matter.

Edwina Grosevnor grew up with fabulous wealth but seems so much more grounded, and married Dan Snow. She also does something so much more worthwhile with prison reform, than conspicuous OTT consumption.

I also find it mind blowing how rich they are, as you’d expect many people to be richer than Bernie. I mean Tamara has one of the biggest houses in London

SebandAlice · 03/11/2019 18:24

The daughters are definitely huge spenders. Both spent eye watering money on their homes. Their staff and travel costs much be enormous. I predict in one or two generations from now the money will be gone. James Stunt when married to Petra was pictured sometimes doing the school run with a motorcade of five cars - two Bentleys, two Range Rovers and a Lamborghini.

James Stunt seems to very vain and I suspect that he's bought some originals, interspersed with fakes from Tetro, because he likes to give the impression he's a big time collector.

There was an article in (I think) Vanity Fair with photos of his collection stacked around the walls on the floor of his new house. However rich you are you don't leave a £20million painting where someone could put a foot through it.

One of his fakes was spotted before (apologies for linking to The Sun): www.thesun.co.uk/news/5742153/james-stunts-picasso-is-a-copy/

And if you wanted to build a reputation as a philanthropist and patron of the arts, lending the work to a stately home would be better than lending it to a gallery where the fakes would be more likely to be spotted. Lending the paintings to Prince Charles is also good for social climbing...

I agree that all the billions will be gone Seb in no time, mostly pissed up the wall. I wonder if Stunt used Ecclestone cash to "buy" the fake masterpieces as a way of extracting money. Then there's Bernie's Brazilian MIL who was kidnapped. They must attract so many hangers-on!

BurningTheToast · 05/11/2019 12:26

I'm not saying it's what's happened here but if you were a bit short of cash, you could buy a good copy, find someone to autheticate it and you've turned a painting worth a thousand pounds into one worth say, a million pounds, that you can take to the bank and use as collateral against a loan.

James stunt is such a wierdo.
He's so.... Dodgy rough aggressive underhand, it's hard to believe he married who he did without daddy going nuts

Xiaoxiong · 05/11/2019 14:58

I don't know who any of these people are (except prince Charles) but this chancer's name is actually James Stunt?? Nominative determinism at its finest Grin
