Just discovered we’ve got mice. And for the last few days, I’ve had a dodgy tummy. Can having mice in the house cause that???

It’s possible it could if they are running over your kitchen surfaces and you’re preparing food on there after. I’ve had terrible problems with mice and came downstairs one night at 3am for some water and there were 4 partying all over my kitchen work surfaces! Honestly they were leaping all over and having a whale of a time! I felt so sick! I got a cat in the end as nothing else was working.

GormlessLeech · 01/11/2019 22:27

Is there evidence of them on kitchen surfaces or anywhere else? Mouse shit etc? Have you found any in traps you’ll have laid out?

It is a germy time of year for people with kids.

We live in a Victorian semi, so it was only a matter of time! But I heard noises and saw droppings. Haven’t seen a mouse yet though. But sure that they’re there because of the droppings.

But yes - it is a very germy time of year! It is probably that... but so creeped out by mice!

(Droppings are all in the food bin cupboard and nowhere else)

They are incontinent..

MajesticWhine · 01/11/2019 22:36

I doubt there is a link. Hope you get well soon, and get rid of the little fuckers too.

mamandematribu · 02/11/2019 08:50

We have mice too. Caught 4 last month and putting traps down again soon.It could be related.
We put all fruit under lock and key at night. Little fuckers especially like bananas . We haven't had tummy issues though.
We bait traps with cheap sandwich paste and that seems to work.
The wet weather brings them in , plus we live in the country too opposite a field.

mamandematribu · 02/11/2019 08:50

They wee and poo as they move. Disgusting 🤮

strawberrie · 02/11/2019 08:52

It's very possible that the mice are making you feel anxious which is having an effect on your tummy?

Nerves/nervousness definitely has an effect on my bowels! Blush

MrsGrindah · 02/11/2019 08:53

Just get Rentokil in.They are brilliant. They’ve helped me with mice, squirrels and wasps!

MrsGrindah · 02/11/2019 08:54

Er..don’t all animals wee and poo everywhere?

Fleetheart · 02/11/2019 08:56

Get a cat. It really worked for us.

Yes I think it may be the mice, they are incontinent. Wee as they move, means their wee is everywhere.

Strugglingtodomybest · 02/11/2019 08:56

We get mice occassionally, they've never caused a tummy upset.

Just get some traps down asap.
