Where's a good place to watch fireworks in London?

Hi!

Trying to do things a little bit cheaper this year - would love to go to a fireworks display for Bonfire Night on Tuesday 5th November, as I'm working this weekend.

We're fairly new to London - does anyone know any good spots/hills/parks in London that people to gather to watch fireworks from without going to ticketed entry fireworks?

I'm not aware on any on actual bonfire night.

Which part of London are you in? Might help suggestions.

Would happily travel to any part of London, but am in South!

You can get a fairly good view of the Crystal Palace fireworks from most of the surrounding area. You won't see the low level ones but the rockets are visible.

I know that makes me sound like a cheapskate and I don't make a point of watching for free, I just happen to be in the area shopping, but the year I did pay to go I had a worse view than outside the park due to me being a shortarse and some inconsiderate, lanky dickheads strolling up and standing about a foot in front of me.

The Blackheath ones are good, and free. You can get there by train

A lot of schools do displays. We're in bromley and most of the primary schools do a display with the tickets sales going to the PSA. They tend not to be expensive.
