My GP referred me for a pelvic ultrasound for an issue I've been having. I had to have a transvaginal scan and the sonographer seemed to spend a lot of time with the probe pointing towards my left ovary. I thought there must be something there, otherwise why would he spend so much time looking in one spot?
Fast forward a few weeks and I've been back to the GP today for the scan results. It was all clear, right ovary was fine, left ovary was... not seen
Where is it? Where did it go? Do I even have a left one? I am fairly overweight, could fat have been hiding it somehow? Even though I had an internal scan?
Nobody seems concerned, the GP didn't even tell me the left one couldn't be seen. He just said everything was fine and then handed me a printout of the scan results. I read it when I got home and there it is in black and white, 'Left ovary - not seen'. I can't stop thinking about it now
