Unwanted good quality carpet - who would want it eg charity shops??

Just pulled up a perfect condition, neutral beige carpet from our box room and tried to sell it on FB but no takers.

It's causing a bit of an obstruction now so I need to get rid but it seems a shocking waste to tip it.

Who do you know of who might put it to good use???

Charity shops are unlikely to want it. I volunteer for a large chain and it's certainly not something we could process and store in our shop.

Some chains - BHF I think - have specialist furniture stores and will send a van to pick things up. Call them and ask. Also in my city there is a local charity which furnishes flats for refugees, people leaving care or coming out of prison and i'm sure they'd take a decent carpet too.

I would advertise on my local FB free serve page.

Everything I have advertised for free has been claimed and collected by someone within 48 hours :)

Advertise on Gumtree?

I put mine on gumtree for free and had lots of people interested. It was taken away the same day.

I freecycled mine! Someone came and took it for their caravan.

I'll try to offer for free then - I might try to find a re-housing charity too.

Do you have a local mum and baby hostel? From memory the flooring was not great, many people covered it with rugs but lots couldn’t afford it.

You could try Emmaus, they're the only charity I know which wants (and collects) items like beds so they might want carpet too.

I gave away old carpets on Facebook, they weren't even in particularly good condition but I had people queuing up for them..l
