Can someone who works for an MOT test centre get your name or address from your licence plate

Just that really - do they have some database where if they enter the license plate they can see your details, or is it confined to the history of the car only?

Anybody can get information from the DVLA for any vehicle, but they need to have 'reasonable cause'

Otherwise, they would only be able to access the vehicle history, which is also open to anyone, so useful when checking out a car that you're thinking of buying for example.

To answer your question, I'm sure that it will be the case that people have been dishonest about the 'reasonable cause' to get information about a person/vehicle, eg for stalker type behaviour. I don't know how thorough the checks are.
