My chilled chicken from Aldi says best before 9th Nov - possible?

Well, the chicken says nothing at all as it's well past the vocal stage.

But the packaging says "best before 9th Nov" - I bought it yesterday. It was definitely in the chilled compartment and not the frozen section.

I'm not sure I'd want to leave it 11 days as Waitrose and Sainsbury's normally have dates within 3-4 days. But maybe I've been missing a trick here.

Is this a mistake?

It's a whole chicken if that makes any difference. Not prepared or stuffed in any way.

I find stuff from Aldi usually has a longer date than other supermarkets. 9th is quite a long time away though. Anything up to a week is fairly normal for Aldi meat in my experience (& we’ve always been fine eating it!)

Maybe we'll eat it at the weekend and not take the chance. Would be about 5 days by then.
Thanks for the reply @Andonandonan

I think it's actually limited by the ten day rule.
It could last longer.

Stored correctly obvs.
A clean fresh chicken could last around 21 days iirc but the longest date the supermarket can do is ten days.

They did do a review but I think it's still in place.
