Anyone have the Joie 360? My baby hates it :(

He's never been a fan of car journeys but since I moved him to the joie 360 spin it's been worse. He's 9 months and big for his age.
He screams and arches his back when I try put him. It's awful.
He didn't do this with his pebble plus.

Any tips??

Don't have this seat but have you taken out any newborn inserts?

Teachermaths · 30/10/2019 09:09

Can he stay in the pebble? He must be really big to have totally outgrown it.

Is he rear facing still? Check the inserts are right too for the back angle.

Chopsicle · 30/10/2019 09:29

Yes removed the newborn insert.
The pebble plus is too small really, he's bigger than an 1 year old. Beside I gave it away as soon as we bought the new car seat :(

Yes rear facing still

Oh no, I've just bought this for my yet to be born baby! It seemed so well designed to not have to twist to put her in!

Nofunkingworriesmate · 30/10/2019 09:50

It’s probably any seat rather than that brand, can you use snacks toys music to distract?

TheQueens · 30/10/2019 09:53

My 10 month old has started stiffening up and arching his back when we put him in the pushchair or car seat, he's not upset or anything, I think it's just a phase! As a PP said it's unlikely to be the brand more that he's being put in against his will! I wouldn't go changing the car seat, I would just ride it out, I'm sure he will be fine.

Skiaddicted · 30/10/2019 09:57

Its a phase, its a horrid horrid one, but it will pass! Worth checking his fit in it on 'a-z of rear facing' on Facebook (can blur out faces if you prefer) as it might be something to do with that but honestly, i dont know many little ones who didnt go through this phase

Chopsicle · 30/10/2019 19:50

Ah right I did wonder if it might be just a phase! Today he did it when I put him in his buggy so seems likely that's what it is 😕

I have it, and I’m not a huge fan tbh. Chose it so that we could rear face for longer, but when DC falls asleep rear facing his head flops forward. Friends who have it just used it forward facing from 9 months, but I don’t want to so back to using the maxi coding cabriofix.

Chopsicle · 30/10/2019 21:16

It says it's not allowed to forward face until after 15 months, I'd rather keep him rear facing as long as possible as it's safer

Is the head rest high enough? My dd was fine in his joie 360 and suddenly he was crying everytine we put him in. It took us a couple of days (and then lots of mum guilt) before we realised. He was (and still is) fine in the car now.

Soontobe60 · 30/10/2019 21:32

I've got this for my grandson, he's a big 14 month old. At 11 months I had to take out the inserts and risenup the headrest. It's laid back quite far so that he can still see out of the window but his head doesn't flop forwards when he falls asleep.

Maverick66 · 31/10/2019 00:36

I agree with others it is his age rather than car seat itself.
It's a phase and you need distraction techniques.
