My DD is going through a spaghetti phase, and it's got to STOP ...

because every time I take the spaghetti out of the packet to put it in the saucepan my brain says "There's no tea like Heinz spagett". Every, single time. At least three times a week for the past six weeks (ish). It's not even from a tin, it's lovely, durum wheat, made in Italy, dried spaghetti.

I've tried to move her over to penne, but she's not having it.

Did you tell her they are spaghetti shapes/twirls/bows/shells?

Or you could switch to noodles - same shape, similar taste.

She's too old to be fooled by noodles or a different shape (she's 11 yo). She's also very determined and knows what she wants. Fortunately she eventually changes her food focus, usually around the time that I have bought enough of whatever it is to last for several months. Grin
