What on earth has happened to Asdas CYO 14 inch deep pan bases! The horror!

These used to be the thickest fluffist bases you could get, at least 3 inches thick, now over the months they've being getting thinner and thinner to now they are barely 3 cm thick, and are breaking under the weight of the toppings, I asked the counter staff if they had given me a stone baked one by mistake, they said they were all like that. Cost cutting again 😭, they are not deep pan anymore yet Asda are still calling them it? Is anyone else's Asda doing the same?

I would email them and ask.. maybe a delivery problem. I have not had a pizza from the counter for ages but keep meaning to now they do vegan cheese.

Are you sure? 3 inches sounds revolting and even 3 cm is far too thick. I've never understood the love for supermarket pizza counter pizzas, the bases are horrible and nothing like proper fresh pizza.

I want to know how the justify putting the price up from £3.50 to £4.75 overnight! I swear they are smaller too

They also used to do a cheese and garlic base you could have instead of tomato sauce. Dd loved it and it was Dh's only opportunity to eat pizza as he's allergic to tomato.
It's gone from all our local Asdas now, maybe if their crusts have gone to pot too this is the beginning of the end for the pizza counters?

TehHappyNarwhal · 29/10/2019 19:16

They still do the garlic base at my locals! It's one of my favourites too! Maybe try a different Asda if you can also the price is still £3.75 but I'm up north so it might be more down south, they said it was because they have three different suppliers, so that means at least one is a cheaper supplier and selling Asda a void good as it's not deep pan and like I said the pizza now literally falls apart

Got one again for a party yesterday and the same issue! Don't call them deep pan if their not deep pan anymore 😣 no supermarket does deep pan bases for larger sizes so it looks like I'll have to go to a over priced takeaway
