A thermal type under layer top for DS to wear for PE

DS has just started secondary so he is 11yo. They play rugby outdoors twice a week. Now that the weather is getting colder, he needs some kind of navy (it has to be plain navy) layer to wear under his short sleeve rugby top for warmth.

This is his and my first foray into outdoor sport in winter so I have no idea what to buy.

Recommendations please!

ds has the rhino baselayer for rugby and it seems to do a good job of keeping him warm. you have the option to personalise it with initials so he is less likely to lose it too

Google "navy blue base layer top". DS1 has some from Under Armour but in black.

Sports direct likely to have some, or our school uniform shop sells them too.

Uniqlo heattech is pretty good and they usually have a range of basic colours.

We got one for DS from Decathlon.

Yes, base layer is what you should look for.

ineedaholidaynow · 24/10/2019 19:33

Sports Direct do them

The sports direct base layer Sondico brand is what my boys use as thermal under layers for rugby. Good for the price.

SweetPeaPods · 24/10/2019 19:52

Another one who recommends the sports direct ones. Great price and last well

Thanks all. I got the Sports Direct one. Sized up, as they seemed very slim in the body (though I recognise that it needs to be close to the skin to keep him warm).
