Am I allowed to sit and wallow in self-pity tonight?

I've just had one of those months where nothing's gone right. I'm just sort of teetering between sink or swim, one more thing, big or small could tip me right over.

Tomorrow I'll pull my big girl pants back up and crack on with things but for tonight can I just sit, have a little cry and feel sorry for myself.

Yes, I'll join you...

What's gone on?

FredaFrogspawn · 23/10/2019 21:37

We all need a cry of despair sometimes. Be kind to yourself and remember, this is going to change at some point. It won’t be like this forever.

colouringinpro · 23/10/2019 21:37

yes. totally. im squishing in with you.

cheeseislife8 · 23/10/2019 21:41

Totally. Sometimes it helps. I'm here too! I often find I can't put on my big girl pants til I've had a proper wallow, cry, tantrum, whatever is needed! You crack on

Diy2019 · 23/10/2019 21:41

Yes.

We cant keep our brave faces on all the time and need to have a quiet cry.

Hope you are ok

Charley1988 · 23/10/2019 21:44

I've been crying since at least 2014 (almost constantly)

You're in good company

happytoday73 · 23/10/2019 21:45

Yes go ahead. As long as different tomorrow...
I did that yesterday after days of feeling tearful and on edge... It was needed. Its made me calmer.
Good luck... Hope gets better soon

sweetkitty · 23/10/2019 21:46

Squish up I’ll join you tonight, I’ve gone to bed early for a good cry.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 23/10/2019 21:48

Thanks kind MNers. Nothing earth shatteringly bad has happened but it's been a string of things and tonight I'm just done with it.

You are definitely allowed. If you’re healthy try to cling to that.

Wolfiefan · 23/10/2019 21:49

Of course you can. Sometimes it’s really therapeutic. Hope tomorrow brings you something nice. Flowers

fluckityfluckfluck · 23/10/2019 21:55

I am exactly there. So tired of being that strong positive coping woman.

RickOShay · 23/10/2019 21:56

Room for a snotty one? Grin
I can lend you a shoulder if you’d like one.Flowers

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 23/10/2019 22:03

Thank you, you lovely vipers you. I don't really want to talk about what's been going on, I just need some sympathy and a virtual hand hold.

OP posts:
ladygracie · 23/10/2019 22:05

I did exactly that last night. Lots of sympathy from me. Hope things feel more manageable soon. 😊

Elieza · 23/10/2019 22:07

Get the ice cream out the freezer and the chocolate out the cupboard, the mumsnetters are coming round! Grin

happypotamus · 23/10/2019 22:08

Yes, we can't keep going without sometimes taking a bit of time to allow ourselves to admit how we really feel. Hope it helps, and that things get better soon.

Wolfiefan · 23/10/2019 22:09

Ice cream is good. On evenings like this it must be eaten directly from the tub though. With a big spoon. It’s the LAW !!! Grin

Elieza · 23/10/2019 22:13

Someone pass me the sauce please. Um, caramel this time thanks, anyone else for some on your ice cream.....

Cakemadeoffruit · 23/10/2019 22:15

Sometimes you have to cry, it's the bodies way of making way of making way for wine.

Butterisbest · 23/10/2019 22:16

Every body is allowed to have a bit of a wallow, and a little self pity party. It's good that you've come here because sometimes it really helps to communicate with someone, even if you don't know them.
We all need a bit of a cuddle every now and then. There's no shame in that.
Most of us are winging it as proper grown up people. Life is relentless and can be overwhelming! But this too shall pass.
🤲 here are a couple of hands to hold. I'm hoping that this isn't a really offensive emoji though. Flowers

Butterisbest · 23/10/2019 22:18

Like your LAW Wolfiefan

Nunyabusiness · 23/10/2019 22:20

I just ate four tunnocks tea cakes in an attempt to feed my soul, I hear you!

Lackademic · 23/10/2019 22:21

Virtual handhold from me. DS knocked over my last glass of wine before I'd even slurped any, I'm watching old episodes of TOWIE in my very recently ex boyfriend's hoodie, I'm drowning in work that I can't focus on, and I have stress acne. I've also binge eaten two packets of crisps, a chocolate spread sandwich, 7 babybels, and a Mars bar, all in the last hour and a half. Hope things get better for everyone soon. And if not, that you all have Mars bars and cheese nearby.

This will cheer you up - B52s singing Our Lips are sealed. xx
