Verbal job offer and start date but nothing in writing.

As the title says, I have been offered a job in a small, family run care home. Been given a verbal offer and a start date via email, but no formal job offer in writing.

Would this bother you? I have handed my notice in at my current place and now feeling a bit nervous.

Email is classed as being in writing.

When I used to make offers I had to rely on the HR department to send actual letter/contract info. But my email was enough
