New carpet fitting around furniture

I have quite a small living room with 2 sofas in that were constructed inside the room because of doorway size. I want a new carpet - can carpet fitters work around sofas? I know they usually want clear rooms but I can't do that without destroying the sofas.

John Lewis do. They fitted around a sofa, armchairs, table, sideboard and cabinet. Very impressive. Other fitters I’ve had have put a max 2 objects. Guess where we just placed a second order 🤣

They need to take up less than half the room. Can you remove cushions and stack them then push them against one wall and have half the room clear? If so then they'll just fit half then lift them over and fit the other half.

Great thank you! Will look at John Lewis (though possibly out of my price range). Also I think I can possibly stack them and so they will take up less than half the room. That's a relief!

We recently used carpet right who worked around a kind size bed in one room, and a triple wardrobe in another, that couldn't be removed due to size. They just asked that the mattress was removed from the bed and it was turned onto its size.

They laid one half of the room, lifted the bed/wardrobe over and laid the other half. Everything was fine :)

We used Carpet Right and they were brilliant (I was so worried after a very bad past experience with carpet fitters). They even asked me if I wanted them to bring back in the furniture we had moved to a different room! I refused and said DH would do it when he got back from work but they were so nice to offer.
