Help me out girls, I'm scared. I'm swigging softeners and think I need to go but I get there and chicken out. Had lots of stitches, just can't mentally unclench.

What are your tips? I can't remember what I did last time, but I didn't have stitches then either so maybe it was easier Blush

The second and third were much worse for me. Like knives.

I didn't have any tears or stitches after both of my births but oh my god do I remember the first poo. Was like pushing out razor blades encased in a rock. I still don't really understand why it is was so painful both times if I didn't have tears or stitches but there you go.

I found holding a maternity towel to my front parts and supporting myself really helped but toilet roll would also work

This will gross ppl out but. Put on a latex glove and squat down. If the poo is stuck and is hard you'll have to manually evacuate it. Just use your index finger to get things moving.
