There’s something a bit suspicious about pumpkin patches, isn’t there?

Not ones in America, those seem fine.

But ones here. It’s the way the pumpkins are all spread out. You get the feeling they’ve all been purchased at Sainsbury’s and dumped artlessly on the ground.

Here's a pic of our 'patch' I'd say it's a genuine one...

Looking at you, Farmer Copley's...

I'd never noticed any of these until this year, and I haven't actually seen any in our locality. But we visited relatives this weekend and I lost count of how many pumpkins I saw "growing" on the outskirts of that well known City of (Horti)Culture, Liverpool.

Hate to burst the Halloween bubble but most American pumpkin patches are fake too. Didn’t stop us taking the obligatory cute pics tho. Toddlers sitting on giant pumpkins, looking like they’ve laid giant orange eggs!

Everything’s an ‘experience’ nowadays.

Our local farm posts pictures of the pumpkins growing. The vines are still in the ground though the pumpkins are cut off to be sold. But you do find the odd pumpkin they’ve missed that’s still attached. I don’t see the point in a fake pumpkin patch!!
