Want to take the kids on thursday, just 3 of us.... £60!!

It’s £93 for us during the school hols. We’re going to Knowsley safari park instead, kids are half price during half term!

Places like this are always expensive. In our family we buy annual membership for our local zoo. That allows free entry into the bigger zoos like Chester once a year.

Is there any way of getting a 2 for 1 with the go by rail promo? That's how we make the aquarium in London affordable.

Chester is worth every penny for their conservation work. Hands down, one of the best Zoo's in the UK. Just look at what they did with the baby elephant earlier in the year. Their scientific work is amazing. Yes Knowsley is nice but it's not a patch on Chester!

Yeah it is a brilliant zoo and is the only one I’d ever go to as their conservation work is amazing. But it’s just so much money for a normal working family day out

I don't think there's much on in half term - it's usually heaving then. There's usually some offers on a few weeks later but they're not great for people with school aged kids. Although it makes business sense, I guess.

The Civil Service has a discount club called HASSRA and you can get cheap tickets through there.

Where are you? Welsh mountain zoo is half the price if that's anywhere near you

PIL live within a mile of Chester Zoo and get a free entry ticket once a year.

If you plan to go for than once, then their annual membership works out best value for money. It's equivalent to three visits, but you can go as much as you want within the year. Before my DC went to school, we went about once a week.
