Just ordered a Eufy robivac. Come and tell me about yours.

I've wanted one of these Robovacs for a while and the model I liked is £100 off on Amazon today so I've just ordered one.
Am I going to regret it? Are they really as great as I'm hoping it will be?
I hate hoovering so I can't wait to sit on my sofa with a book whilst it cleans my floor. Or come home from work to clean floors.

@snozzlemaid can I ask what you think of your Eufy? Just doing a search on them!

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/12/2019 16:24

Mines great, just the basic one but I love it.

Snozzlemaid · 29/12/2019 17:02

I love it. It works really well and picks up much more than I was expecting it to.
We’ve got the 30c and can use the remote, app or Alexa to control it.
It’s so good to be able to do other stuff (or sit on the sofa) when it’s cleaning your floor.
It can be programmed to come on at certain times so I can come home to clean floors.
I never now look at the floor and think ‘oh no, I’ve got to drag the hoover out again’.
I would really miss it now if we didn’t have one.

My Eufy is set to go off at 9am everyday. When I come home from work, I put him upstairs. He's called Rosham for various reasons!

Best purchase in years.

TheOwlette · 29/12/2019 17:24

I love our Eufy, it’s bloody great!

UhKevin · 29/12/2019 20:03

Love it love it love it love it love it love it LOVE IT.

I think we’ve got the 60? Might be the 30 - it was the one down to about £190 on Black Friday. Can’t find anything to complain about - we thought it might well be a gimmick, wouldn’t get near edges, wouldn’t pick up well at all and would still need the Dyson once a week. Totally wrong - it’s brilliant.

EspressoX10 · 29/12/2019 20:07

We have the 30c too and it's amazing!

We named him Isaac (Asizmov = robotics) and I don't think I've ever loved an appliance quite as much.
It's a toss up between him and my 10kg Siemens washing machine with WiFi!

He zooms around doing his thing and the results are so much better than I expected. It's also great to come home to a clean floor!

DMCWelshcakes · 29/12/2019 20:07

Love ours. He's called Oofy Prosser and he goes off at 12.30 every day. That way we can check that the pets haven't done anything nasty on the floor that would get spread around. As someone else said, it's much more efficient than I thought it would be.

Wouldn't be without it now.

Thank you for all the replies!

More questions....!

How noisy are they?
Do you put them on when you’re in or out?
How do they cope going between wood/carpet?
How do they cope with not faking down the stairs?
Doors it make its way back to charge? Does it come with a little docking station which you keep near a mains socket?
Is the app any good (looking at the 30c one with app)?

UhKevin · 29/12/2019 21:31
  1. Kids can hear it in the hall downstairs when they’re going to bed but you can hear the TV over it if it’s in the room
  1. Both but ideally when we’re in in case it does need attention. We usually run it at the DC’s bedtime so it clears up after the day
  1. No problem
  1. Also no problem. It senses any drops and keeps away. There’s a magnetic strip included for ‘zoning’ if you need to keep it away from stuff (we usually just put a solid object in front of anything like that, eg a kid’s chair)
  1. Yes and yes. It bumbles around and find its way home. Takes maybe four hours to do a full charge but it runs for about an hour off that.
  1. Yes, very handy. You can schedule it, find it, check its battery status and it’ll give you a notification if it gets stuck at all.
TheOwlette · 29/12/2019 22:21

We have the one with the app, I love it. I can tell our robohoover to go and clean from the comfort of my sofa. And you can change how it cleans from the app. For example it has a deeper clean function for carpet and an edge clean mode. You also get a message if it accidentally gets stuck. The DC talk to it very affectionately .

Snozzlemaid · 29/12/2019 23:28

How noisy are they? Not too bad. It can be running downstairs and won't wake us upstairs.
Do you put them on when you’re in or out? I mostly use it when I'm home as I like to have a quick check around for wires etc and tuck them out if the way
How do they cope going between wood/carpet? Ours goes fine between laminate and carpet. I use it on the setting where it alters the suction when on different floor types. So it automatically sucks more on carpet.
How do they cope with not faking down the stairs? No problem at all. It senses the edge and turns away. I was sceptical at first and stood and watched it when I put it upstairs just in case.
Doors it make its way back to charge? Does it come with a little docking station which you keep near a mains socket? Yes when battery gets low it returns to the docking station which is plugged in.
Is the app any good (looking at the 30c one with app)? You can control it from the app and set up a schedule for it to clean automatically. It will send you a notification if it gets stuck and you're not home so you can then switch it off until it can be rescued.
It's really easy to empty too.

Thank you for all of your answers to my questions!

Do we not need the magnetic strip at the top of the stairs then-it will just sense the edge?

Dazedandconfused10 · 30/12/2019 16:22

He's great! Does eat wires and doesn't pay attention the schedule i set up for him, just cleans when he fancies.

TheOwlette · 30/12/2019 17:27

We don’t put the magnetic strip by the stairs, it just senses the stairs and doesn’t go over the edge.

ADrabLittleCrab · 30/12/2019 17:47

I'm not sure what model ours is but I love her - she's called Eufegenia. I make sure floors are clear before I go to work , press the button and come home to clean floors. It's very rare I find her on her dock but we're all one floor, so I think it's too far for her to find her way back if she's down the other end but it's not a problem, just pop her back on her dock and she's ready to trundle off again in the morning.

fedup21 · 06/01/2020 14:03

Can anyone tell my why, when Eufy is left on the dock and when fully charged, he does 4 beeps, then a minute pause, then 4 beeps and a minute pause and then starts cleaning whether you’ve told him to or not? I’d like him to just charge and stay put and await further instruction!

He’s never made it back to his dock either-just cleans till he runs out of juice!

Dazedandconfused10 · 06/01/2020 14:28

I've never had that before he just sleeps on the dock till he decides to go off for a clean.

fedup21 · 06/01/2020 14:55

@dazedandconfused10 does he beep when he’s fully charged?

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/01/2020 14:59

Mine bleeps once, There’s a sticker underneath saying what the beeps mean.

Dazedandconfused10 · 06/01/2020 15:03

I don't think mine beeps unless he is tangled or lost!
