Best iPhone for beautiful, bright group photos and selfies, etc.

Hi all,
I have an iphone 6 at the moment which doesn't produces fairly dull looking photos where everyone's skin looks dull and washed out.

One of my friends says she has an iphone 8 (she says/thinks) and her photos seem to come out beautiful, bright, glamorous and almost as if they have a bright filter on them (but the photos are like this even when taken before a filter is put on). However, another friend of mine has an iphone10 and his photos look fairly dull like on my iphone 6.

What's the best iPhone for taking glamorous, bright, group photos and selfies?

My XR takes fab photos. Good enough to print up to A3 without pixelating.
My old 8 plus took great photos too. Look for an iPhone with portrait mode too, takes good pics with blurred backgrounds.

Thank you - do they help in making people look better too, somewhat? I heard in general, phone cameras have a wide angle lens which will distort facial features like nose, etc.

Also, what's the cheapest place to purchase a new iPhone? Even buying outright would be fine for me if it's cheaper that way.

Op I'd not really used my camera properly yet so just trialled the dreaded 'selfie'

The portrait setting is bloody amazing it's taken away every wrinkle and huge choice of settings.

I've got an XR but I'd look at the new iPhone 11/11 pro. I'm a little peeved as they're quite a bit cheaper than the X and XR. The photos I take on my XR are amazing. The ones my DD takes on her XS Max are better. Her iPhone 7 Max took great photos, too

Does it have to be an iPhone?
