Inspire me!

I don't want to waste the afternoon... all alone until 4pm. What would you do with four child free hours today?

I would go to a coffee shop for a fancy coffee and a big slice of cake then have a nice peaceful autumn walk through the park.

PotteringAlong · 20/10/2019 11:49

It’s lashing it down here so I would snuggle up on the sofa, light the fire and relax!

TemporaryPermanent · 20/10/2019 11:57

A walk in the woods and get out of breath for an hour or two, followed by a lovely coffee and reading a book uninterrupted.

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 20/10/2019 12:10

I'd shove a boxset on and crochet!

SoyDora · 20/10/2019 12:13

Sleep, but then I have a 9 month old who wakes up approx 6 times a night.
If I wasn’t dog tired, I’d light my new candle, curl up on the sofa with a blanket and read a book. That’s all. My favourite activity and haven’t had a chance to do it for around 6 years!

JMAngel1 · 20/10/2019 12:21

A huge bubble bath with candles then Modern Love on Amazon - amazing new series perfect for a cosy Autumn afternoon.

SuperPixie247 · 20/10/2019 12:37

I have 4 hours free every other weekend. Unfortunately I spend at least half of that time giving house a good going over then take a really hot shower using all my best stuff. If I have any time left over, I get my book out.

Not very exciting or at all exciting but my mood is so much better when the house is looking good!

Phycadelicsilhouette · 20/10/2019 12:38

Cinema and lunch on my own!

CileyMayRhinovirus · 20/10/2019 12:44

Bath, book, hot drink and a snooze. Sorry, not very inspiring, but I'm tired and need some nurture more than anything else.

If I was in any mood to go out in town, then either the nail shop or the cinema because they are the places I can't take the kids.

Or Maybe a swim, sauna, steam and/or jacuzzi and a nice cold drink and some olives somewhere. Possibly followed by steak with all the trimmings. I'd have to be richer to do that too though, not just child free.

JMAngel1 · 20/10/2019 12:58

Ha ha - I hear that.

happypotamus · 20/10/2019 13:00

Read in bed. Except I would probably accidentally fall asleep.
That is what I would dream of doing. In reality, I would end up tidying up the house and doing the ironing.

LuckyAmy1986 · 20/10/2019 13:02

Cinema with pick n mix and a big drink!

RoseMartha · 20/10/2019 13:04

Ironing then have a bath and a hot drink and chocolate and watch a movie on the sofa

SinkGirl · 20/10/2019 13:07

I respect the hell out of anyone who’d do anything other than sleep.

But I would sleep.

BarbaraofSeville · 20/10/2019 13:10

Sleep is not wasting the afternoon if you need it and feel refreshed afterwards.

I would have a nice walk and then a pub lunch or fish and chips.

GoodwithRocksandGems · 20/10/2019 13:19

I’d cycle to the local pool and go lane swimming. Followed by a browse around town looking at book and clothes shops and coffee plus cake alone. Enjoy!

AuntieStella · 20/10/2019 13:22

Long run, bit of gardening and an uninterrupted bath

Crunchymum · 20/10/2019 13:24

Weather is ok here so I'd go for a nice long stroll, maybe along the canal. Then somewhere for a nice roast and a glass of red wine.

CoodleMoodle · 20/10/2019 13:25

After I'd finished sobbing with joy, (5yo and 15mo being very trying today!) I'd have a nap, watch whatever I wanted on the telly, have a proper bath, eat rubbish and just generally laze about. I'd probably try and do something useful, like sort out some of the cupboards, but I can't imagine much of that would actually get done...

ThrilledToTiddlyBits · 20/10/2019 13:26

I'd meet a friend for a pub lunch, or go to the cinema on my own with popcorn and pick n mix. I'd take the dog and my sketchbook out for a nice walk too if I had the time. Also book & bath. Or Netflix binge with snacks. So many options! Let us know what you get up to!

Phycadelicsilhouette · 20/10/2019 13:54

@ThrilledToTiddlyBits .... I love your name! It’s really made me smile! Grin

ThrilledToTiddlyBits · 20/10/2019 13:58

@phycadelicsilhouette thanks, it's something my dad says 😊

PinkFl · 20/10/2019 13:58

I'd probably fold laundry and watch Netflix and have some chocolate :)

Phycadelicsilhouette · 20/10/2019 14:00

@ThrilledToTiddlyBits (I just love saying it!) how lovely! I’ve never heard it before but I think it’s my new favourite saying and definitely one of my favourite MN names I’ve come across!
Gone are the days of “good thank you” when I’m feeling good and someone asks Grin

ThrilledToTiddlyBits · 20/10/2019 14:01

😂😂 Spread the love!! I'll tell my dad it's caught on!
