If you're not comfortable, then make an appointment. Or check nhs website.
Is child drinking plenty? Try drinking squash with sugar (for energy) or dioralyte. Is child passing urine?

Yes, as PP said it could be a kidney infection. I got them frequently as a teen and they got bad quickly if I didn't start taking antibiotics. Its definitely worth a trip to be on the safe side.
