Going away for a week with the dc 12 &14. Staying near Tavistock and looking for ideas of things to do within a reasonable travelling distance.
Good playgrounds and parks / swimming pools etc

Meadowlands has 2 indoor heated pools - one for serious swimming plus one with flume, river rapids and interactive water features.
Tree Surfers is a high ropes trail with zip wires, tarzan swings and ropes bridges. There’s also an archery range and bike hire with a good range of woodland bike trails.
There are two good indoor climbing walls nearby - Clip n Climb and The Barn.
There’s a good playground with zip wire at Buckland Abbey, plus threewaymarked paths, varying in length from 1 mile to 3 miles.
There’s a Museum night at Crownhill Fort on Friday www.landmarktrust.org.uk/crownhill-fort/crownhill-fort-whats-on/
At Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre there are working vintage fairground rides (dodgems, ghost train, carousel etc...) plus stalls and a penny arcade.
Roadford Lakeis on the edge of Dartmoor between Okehampton and Launceston. It has a wide range of activities both on and off the water - high ropes, climbing wall, archery, canoeing etc...
