My dp used to have a few of these, mat copies on board... Not shiny and obvious like a poster and usually in large gilt frames.

We had a vermeer and one of Nelson last moments... A few more. Unfortunately ours were lost in fire.

Has anyone ever seen them or know what I'm talking about? They look for more realistic than shiny posters of great art...

Yes I know the type, you'll find them in charity shops or car boot sales

There are lots of places online selling art prints. I'm not totally certain what phrasing one would use to ensure it was matt finish rather than Athena posters... one of them says silkscreen printing and does things by hand. I know my in-laws got their paintalike picture online.

More expensive than a poster, obviously. Fighting Temeraire is £120 and a less famous Turner is £70...
