Can I put Lego in the dishwasher?

I have been given a massive load of Lego which is fab but it's been stored in a garage and smells quite damp. If I was to place it in a colander can I wash it in the dishwasher on a cool cycle I don't fancy unloading it into the bath to wash loads of pieces separately.

Yes. I bought a shedload in an old box from a junk store. It dishwashed up very nicely. And I don't remeber doing it on a cold/cool wash. I just bunged it through like I do everything. If you're nervous run a small sample lot though.

I put it in a colander too. It works.

I put it in lingerie bags and washed it in the washer, then spread it out on towels to dry.

I’ve put it in the washing machine before now, in a mesh bag. It came out perfectly clean and no damage to the Lego or the machine

Put it in a pillow case, sew the edge shut, and put it in the washing machine.
