Quick - “do I really need to go to walk in?” for this question

My 10 year old dd has managed to get a piece of shredded wheat wedged under her nail.
I have tried everything to get it out - theres nothing to grab on to to pull it out and she bites her nails so cutting it anymore is impossible .

I am stumped at this point and she is upset - I have her randomly soaking it again to try and soften it not that is worked before but I am googling splinters madly.

Pic attached - do I really need to be that mum that goes to the walk in for a splinter ?
I Know my gp won’t see this as it says on a big notice that they don’t see minor injuries!
