1, Doing my hair up in a French plait (bonus points to myself if I manage so it doesn't look like I've crawled through a hedge)
2, Line management. How hard can it be Confused
3, Not being like my mum.

Never got on with new year's resolutions, October is a much better time to be setting arbitrary goals.

Excellent idea, I need to:

  1. master drying the back of my hair, I'm 50 surely I should be able to by now, ditto applying make up.
  2. Being happy in a job.
  3. seeing more of my granddaughter, because she is just amazing Smile.

Just for fun I'll practice kissing my husband and making cakes.

  1. Learn how to take better pictures
  2. Eat the frog everyday
  3. Plank for 30 seconds

Souffles.
Parallel parking.
Taking less than 20 minutes to leave the house.

I really want to learn to eat like a grown up. Well into my 40s and I still eat like an unsupervised five year old boy at a birthday party. I want to master "clean" eating.

RippleEffects · 15/10/2019 19:18
  1. Learn to eat and enjoy without pigging out or being racked with guilt.
  2. Enjoy my business and achievements for what they are without allowing mum guilt or comparison to others.
  3. Get a life - have things that I do for me as an autonomous human being i.e not mum, wife, daughter, niece
TreacherousPissFlap · 15/10/2019 19:28

Walk properly - DH describes my walk as "like a drunk sailor who's been riding a horse through a desert" Hmm I would like to master the art of a brisk and busy walk.

Twiddle a pen - I occasionally catch my colleagues scowling when I've dropped it for the hundredth time that day.

Playing Bach's Invention no 11 in G minor on the piano

Mac47 · 16/10/2019 23:59

"Eating the frog" is from a Mark Twain quote I believe, that refers to doing the thing you really don't want to do. Iirc it then says that if you have 2 frogs to eat, you should eat the biggest first.

7Days · 17/10/2019 00:03

Eat the frog is a quote,I think the gist is if you know you have a load of chores to do today, including a horrible one like eating a frog. Eat the frog first so the day only gets better from then on

TheGirlWhoLived · 17/10/2019 00:08

I’m more of a frog avoider at present. I vow to resolve this!

Also drink less, eat 5 or 7 or 9 a day, socialise more, read more intelligent books etc

Bobthefishermanswife · 17/10/2019 00:10

I really like the idea of 3 aims

  1. I want to get better at birthdays.
I'm fine with immediate family, but I want to at least send cards to the extended and my friends and their children. I've asked for a day free calendar to help me accomplish this.
  1. Get fit, I haven't been in the gym since my first miscarriage early last year, I've lost my pregnancy weight through diet since I had my son, but I'm soft and want to firm back up.
  1. Have a real adult bedroom - to me this is bedding that matches the curtains, furniture that matches. At the moment we have white and gold curtains, blue or gray bedding and a white bed frame, black bedside tables and a brown drawer unit/dressing table.

I think 2 will be accomplished with dps help, 1 I will be pretty good at and then start to struggle midway through the year and 3 we'll sell the house before I get that organised Hmm

I thought it was a certain kind of euphemism....

  1. Find myself. Become so lost in the miasma of motherhood.
  2. Start working for myself
  3. Dance more 💃
OhioOhioOhio · 17/10/2019 07:43

Get divorced. Get fit. Be me again. Get divorced. Oh did I mention. Get divorced.

ByeByeMissAmericanPie · 18/10/2019 06:54

If I had 4 options, @OhioOhioOhio, divorce would be my next.
Need to find myself and my courage first.
