Extreme bloating and fullness after a small meal should be investigated. I’d see your GP if this continues.

scrivette · 15/10/2019 19:28

I get a stomach ache sometimes if I eat a salad on an empty stomach ache. Have you got any Gavison or Rennies?

Boozysoozy1 · 15/10/2019 19:30

Try dandelion tea, it really helps with bloating. I’m not usually one for herbal remedies but read this helps for period bloating and I’ve found it useful since (also get on all fours with your arse in the air, gas rises so you can let it all out!)

HavelockVetinari · 15/10/2019 19:32

Is it common for you? As a PP says, frequent unexplained bloating requires medical attention to rule out something sinister (ovarian cancer, bowel cancer, crohn's, IBD...etc.)

redchocolatebutton · 15/10/2019 19:33

I react badly to lettuce.
plus lettuce & mayo & tuna spoil easily

OverthinkingThis · 15/10/2019 19:35

Coffee on an empty stomach always gives me horrendous bloat. Try eating more.

Overseasmom100 · 18/10/2019 21:35

It was def the lettuce!!!

Get it checked - feeling full too soon & unexplained bloating are 2 classic symptoms of ovarian cancer. Be good to rule that out.

Fizzypoo · 18/10/2019 21:54

Do the laughing baby yoga position, your wind will be released. Plus it's quite a funny position to be in.

Ohyesiam · 18/10/2019 21:58

Coffee can really irritate the stomach.

Rachel438 · 18/10/2019 22:07

@slightlywizened Grin Grin John Hurt had a real problem like that...

wowfudge · 18/10/2019 22:16

Peppermint tea can help as can hot water with ginger.

Wheat2Harvest · 18/10/2019 22:19

If your stomach is literally bursting I would call an ambulance. Hmm

TroysMammy · 18/10/2019 22:20

I can't eat iceberg lettuce or too many onions because they give me horrendous cramps and wind. I don't have a problem with salad leaves and echalion shallots though.

Namechangenecessity · 18/10/2019 22:22

Whilst I’m sure it’s isn’t the case, the feeling full on little food is as above a symptom of ovarian cancer, but I assume there would be other symptoms too. Caveat I have no medical knowledge ! But felt I should T least mention it. I would seek medical advice regardless if it continues as it could be all manner of things.

rainbowunicorn · 19/10/2019 00:12

@HeadintheiClouds why would it be a stealth boast? What a strange reaction to a question. The OP is concerned that after eating and drinking very little she is in discomfort with bloating.
Is it really that difficult to understand?

Singlenotsingle · 19/10/2019 00:19

Maybe your stomach's shrunk after all that low-carbing. You've overdone it.

Dowser · 19/10/2019 07:00

I’m getting a blood test when I get home as I have an ovarian cyst
Had it for about 12 years now
I’m sure my bloating is ibs
Don’t take gaviscon or Zantac or rennies..bicarbonate of soda is better on your stomach..that was from my doctor

Are you constipated. That can cause horrendous bloating. I know. I’ve been there and still working on it
I had raw onion at dinner last night and I’m wondering if I’m awake with wind right now because of it
It was seriously strong.
Lettuce really affects my friend..too much and she’s dashing to the loo
I’ve spent years trying to sort my stomach out so I’m not the best poster girl for it
Some colpermin might ease the pressure , peppermint tea or drinking half a lemon squeezed in hot water.

As a last resort I’ve used the master cleanse salt flush

Just thought of something else
My touch for health therapist said if you take your left hand flat palm and start at your belly button, rub clockwise in increasing circles, firmly not painfully, when you got to inside your left pelvic hip bone, do a deep flick as you come off your body.
That’s where the Houston valve is located and that will help to release pressure quickly.
