Anaesthetic from earlier surgery wearing off

And it hurts like FUCKERY

small operation on my hand, local anaesthetic now wearing off and it throbs.

I've taken co codemol (and a laxative)

Just want to vent my pain

No advice, but I sympathise.
Not had that experience myself but I remember my husband after a hernia repair. I picked him up from hospital at about 5pm and he practically skipped out of the ward. By 1am the local had worn off and he was climbing the walls. I sometimes think this drive for day case surgery isn't always such a good thing for individuals, though obviously it saves the NHS a fortune.
Hope you feel better soon. Can you take anti inflammatories as well?
