Toddler friendly italy for a short break?

We have baby number 2 arriving beginning of next summer so would like to have our last holiday as a 3 beforehand.

This means travelling around March or April.

Would there be anywhere worth going in Italy for a short break with a 2.5 year old?

We normally camp in Normandy but would prefer something a bit more comfy this time...

The only problem with March or April would be weather- you really can't predict what you'll get. Italy is generally fab with toddlers but everywhere's a bit shit when it rains.

We went to Viareggio last year when DS was nearly 2.5.

Beach, quick transfer from Pisa, on the train line for trips.

I've been before pre kids in April and the weather was very pleasant but don't know if that was usual.

We went to lake Garda in May this year with DS, nearly 3 by then. The weather was mixed.

I am wondering if it might be a bit cool and unpredictable that time of year

Realistically what’s the latest a pregnant person would be travelling ?

I’ve seen that airlines accept either 32 or 36 weeks but 36 weeks seems quite late and uncomfortable to be on a plane

Alternatively thinking a European city break somewhere as the cooler weather should be ok for that.

Sicily is nice, very far south but also lots to visit if not beach weather
