Can't sleep tired of laten labour

According to the MW I'm in latent labour (2cm dilated, soft cervix). I've had so many aches and pains. Sometimes I want to cry but it doesn't translate into established contractions. Baby still moving OK (maybe less? Hard to know) and my bump is rock hard. No mucus plug no bloody show yet.

Go for a big long walk today. May seem like the last thing you want to do, but it should help get things moving.

Then get home and have a relaxing bath and get some sleep if you can. Stress hormones inhibit the release of the hormones that trigger labour, so as relaxed as you can be, the better. MUCH easier said than done though I know! I was in latent labour with dd for 44 hours! Worth it though. Good luck!

I was like this for 2 weeks with my youngest.
When established Labour started he shot out in a few hours.
Midwife said all those niggles were setting up the ground work.

It'll happen soon x

Thank you! Yes I think I'll go for a walk later today. My DM just keeps saying "but you need to rest!" Had a bath yesterday which brought more "contractions" but as it has been happening they tend to go away after I nap/sleep.
DH and I have a rule of not going to hospital until I cant move from the pain.

MW thought it should all happen within a week, but it's just a guessing game.

I had 3 days of this with my first. I was very uncomfortable until my waters broke and could barely sit down and spent a night wandering backward and forwards to the loo because I constantly felt like I needed to pee!

My second stage was pretty fast in the end, so agree with a PP that something is going on! Good luck!

I had my sweep Thursday morning so I thought I would see further movement by now but nothing!! I might take the dog for an extremely early morning walk

How are you op? I’m hoping you’re having newborn cuddles!

Nope nothing! I have my second sweep booked for tomorrow morning though!
