I love Halloween, the decorations, the pumpkins, fancy dress. So thought I would start a thread for a celebration of it away from the dismissive moaners on that other thread.
Would love to hear your plans for it this year and some photos would be greatSmile

Party!

Canklesforankles · 13/10/2019 09:33

Have cleared out airing cupboard and saved up very old bobbly and torn sheets. I’m planning to make a ghost circle in the front garden. I have visions of a circle of ghostly figures holding hands around a fire bowl.

Will use Christmas fairy lights in logs in fire bowl for safety.

Who knows if I’ll actually get it done but I will post a pic if I do. Especially if it is rubbish. Love a craft fail Grin

Set an extra place at the table for the departed and make some goals for the year ahead.

Izzabellasasperella · 20/10/2019 09:14

Has anyone put their Halloween decorations up yet? I'm itching to do mine but dh says it's too early.
I have started on my costume though😊

Giant spiders sound great, photos when you're finished please😊
I'm only doing my kitchen and hallway, we never get trick or treaters due to where we live so I'm decorating just for me and the kids😊
Dh said no to a party so we're going out to a pub on the Friday.

Milk bottle ghosts. The kids love doing them. We put multi coloured tea lights inside so they shine different colours in the dark.

Great cossies and make-up ideas! I’m heading off into the countryside on the day, for some fresh air and a plunge in a pool with a waterfall. Yes, in October, in England. The plunge may be more a lot of swearing and a brief paddle Grin I just wanted to do something special this year. Last Halloween/Samhain I was with a group of friends most of whom have gone their separate ways. I’m still in contact with two of them but sadly the other person has gone NC for their own reasons.

Shit. @Strawberrypancakes, that's what must have happened to my house. I'm the corner house on the road leading to the Primary School and DP has got more and more into it every year. Last one, I had to pop round the shop for some more sweets and I passed three small groups (parents/older kids/little ones together) and they were saying that they'd come back by The One With All The Decorations and pointing it out to others.

He's a bit miffed that he's had to work late tonight, so he's missing the Trick or Treaters, though - as it's bloody freezing here tonight, I'm wondering if more might come tomorrow or Saturday, as I haven't seen many littlies this year. You can't beat a homemade werewolf or Zombie Fairy Princess that's about 2 foot tall, IMO.

So sad it's over for another year. Didn't get to do half my plans. Next year will be even bigger and better!

SunnyupLands · 02/11/2019 10:19

Op it's brilliant round me, brilliant fun.
We really went to town this year and I stayed in with older dc to open the doors.

It's a brilliant community thing it really is!
Some roads nearly every house dresses up

Check out this corker of Halloween make up 👻 🎃 here ....

She has her post on public & her post states that she wants her work to be shared 👍🏻👻🎃 It's the best I've ever seen bloody hell 😂

Izzabellasasperella · 02/11/2019 11:09

Noo I don't like that!

I love it because it's done and dusted in 4 hours! I decorate the front of my house, carve pumpkins like a three year old, buy loads of sweets, rebuy loads of sweets when I have eaten the first lot and answer the door constantly from 5.15 until 7.15 when I run out of stuff. All the decs go away and I put my feet up.

This year I had 92 children come to the door. I got through 30 ginger biscuits, 18 apples, 6 Babybels (don't ask) and 6 big bags of sweets. Next year I must get more apples in - who'd a thought it?!
