How to make a grey living room look cosy and warm

How do I make a living room look cosy and neutral. I quite like a warm colour but do have a tendency to be over colourful and after a few weeks it feels over the top or a bit childlike.

I’ve tired magnolia and felt it make the place gloomy. So would like to try a grey but don’t want it to look cold and soulless.

Any ideas how to make it grey and cosy without looking like a circus?

Coral is a lovely colour to accent with grey.

I have a dark grey, large couch and a plug in fire as well as wooden blinds! Walls are all white and some other furniture have natural wood. So there’s your starting point, boring, not cosy.... however, it’s sooooo cosy now. I’ve added a total mismatched muted pink velvet seat with a grey leather footstool, a white wire coffee table (with see-in storage) and numerous differently textured and coloured cushions. There are 3 blankets hanging about the place, all have some sort of grey to them but different fabrics. My curtains are white/grey but patterned and there’s lots of plants and candles. Sooo nice. So in short: texture!! Go for blinds with curtains and then don’t be afraid to mismatch a bit and don’t stick to a “theme” too much - just makes it tacky when everything matches.
