Can you buy tickets for Chelsea football games?

Dh used to be a season ticket holder but gave it up quite a few years ago.

I wanted to surprise him with some tickets, is it possible to buy tickets for home matches at a reasonable price?

Someone more knowledgable than me will be along I’m sure but I think it’s tricky. My ex was a Chelsea fan and didn’t have a season ticket but ended up having to join some kind of Chelsea fan club thing to get priority ticket buying in order to get a ticket for a home game. One of the most boring 1.5 hours of my life watching that game! Grin

Not sure about Chelsea but with a lot of the big clubs you have to be a member in order to buy tickets due to demand.

Yeah gotta get membership first. Think they can go on general sale but very rarely and right at the end of sales and also think you're going to limited to where you can sit if they do.

So membership is different to being a season ticket holder? How much is membership?

Tickets for cup games are much cheaper and demand is lower, so you might be able to get tickets. For league games you need to be a member and tickets are often limited to one per member.
There is a re-sale site run by Chelsea where tickets are around face value for season ticket holders to sell tickets they can't use.
Does your DH have friends who are still season ticket holders/members who could help?

Two different things OP. A season ticket gets you into all games, membership gives you the opportunity to buy individual tickets and a few other perks (at least the membership we have for the club we support does that). We pay around £20 for the basic ‘package’ which just gives us a membership card but if you pay more you get a scarf or hat or whatever but we decided we don’t need any tat.
For big games ticket demand is so much that we have to go into a draw and hope our application is picked out.
