Has anyone used Saxenda to lose weight?

I can't seem to figure out the dosage vs cost.

£75 for 1 pen and 30 needles. Does that mean 1 pen lasts 30 days/30 doses?

Trying to figure out what the cost would be long term.

From what I can gather, it depends on your dose. Here's a link to a pharmacy selling it for £53 though, I have no idea if it's the exact same thing as the one you are looking at but it's worth a look.

I just can't seem to find what the dosages are or how long they last. I might give them a ring.

I've used it, yes one pen should last you the full month, you are supposed to keep upping doses but to be honest I never really needed too. I only used it for a month - lost 16 pounds and it really kickstarted getting back into healthy eating and controlling portions. Only side effect nausea at the beginning!

Yep any weight - Sarah vine did a column on it for the mail - google it (diff brand name) after she was privately prescribed it. I think I went up to 1.2 but the effects were working well so didn't feel the need to go up.

Oh and I skipped a few days here and there so it did last me a month - maybe it wouldn't if you were super strict

speed/amphetamines are an appetite suppressant, but not widely recommended as a weight loss aid (any more).

Saxenda is also called skinny pen / skinny shot etc.

The dose is 18mg within each pen. You start at 0.6mg daily for around a week, increasing to 1.2mg daily for another week then increasing to 1.8mg, 2.4mg then 3mg each week.

So the first pen will last around 2.5 weeks but subsequent pens last for a shorter duration due to higher daily dose.

If you are already losing weight well before reaching the maximum dose of 3mg you can choose to stay at that dose. Most users find that the side effects prevent them from increasing the dose each week.

Hey I know this is an old thread but wanted to resurrect it to see if anyone is still using Saxenda or has any experience of it? I’ve been on it for a week and it’s amazing! I’ve lost half a stone. Would love to hear from anyone else who is or has taken it?

Can I ask what happens when you stop? Has the body compensated by producing more of whatever hormones are being blocked, so you are then extra hungry??
