Going to a local farm to pick a pumpkin and then carve it. Face painting at home. Some easy Halloween baking and art. There is some good ideas for baking in the free Asda magazine. Going to keep it low key because shes tired from her first term at Reception.

Pumpkin picking, Addams family at the cinema, it’s my youngest’s first birthday in the middle of the holidays so we’ll be going to the zoo, I’ve booked the DC on an archaeology camp one day, we’re going on a RSPB Halloween moonlight walk one night too plus trick or treating and usual Halloween stuff. Bonfire at the end of the week.

Check out the app Hoop, it lists lots of events in your area.

Halloween day and evening will be jam packed, and the second weekend I'll do a big day out somewhere (not sure where yet) but they will have to be good all week (I mean I'll probably take them anyway, but I'll use at as the incentive!). Will try and do something 1 to 1 with my eldest like cinema As we don't get much 1 to 1 time. Otherwise mostly out and about will be park, shops, library. Probably be indoors a fair bit too so got lots of activities to do like art, craft, baking kits, games, puzzles, Lego. I'll be getting them to do their Santa letters too (Christmas wish list!) and a big purge of toys to go to charity so we can make some space for Christmas. I find that the half term between October half term and Christmas we are so busy with festivities we don't have much time to play with or tidy up toys, so try to get it minimal because they basically don't notice and then next thing they have new stuff. This half term is always my favourite holiday. I love Christmas and Easter too, but not a big fan of February and may half terms. February is just dreary and miserable and I'm always skint still from Christmas, and may is like the summer holidays but not as warm and not as relaxing. But This holiday is great, because we celebrate Halloween, get ready for bonfire night, start thinking about and making Christmas plans.
