Anyone for a cup of tea?

I woke at 4 and have just given up on sleep and made a cuppa. Anyone fancy one? There's coffee and hot chocolate if you prefer?

I'm up for work, I'll have a fresh cup before I have to leave.

Namechangedtoprotect · 11/10/2019 05:02

Good plan, where do you work? Do you need it in a thermos?

UncomfortableSilence · 11/10/2019 05:28

I'll have one with a few sugars Grin

I'm so bloody tired but woke on and off all night, just laying here listening to the rain and may as well get in the shower and get ready for work.

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 11/10/2019 05:36

Ykmow, I really fancied a cup of strong and milky tea as I went to sleep last night. Go on then I'll have it now, ta.

I don't need to be awake now. I just am, for some reason Hmm

Coffeeandchocolate9 · 11/10/2019 05:37

I'd take the puppy out to pre-empt the morning wee puddles we got yesterday, but she's on somebody else's bed and she (the dog) is the worst for lying in bed longer than any of us. Even the cat gets up earlier than her!

fantasmasgoria1 · 11/10/2019 05:38

I'm having mine now. I wake up around 3am most mornings due to pain. I usually take my medication and once that has begun to work I can sit back and relax!

Homebird8 · 11/10/2019 05:40

Yes please. Just remade my bed with fresh linen. I put the quilt outside to air and it rained on it so it had to go in the drier for a while. I don’t know why but getting the quilt inside the cover is always exhausting so I really need a cuppa and a sit down.

Foslady · 11/10/2019 05:44

Tea, bit of milk, no sugar would be very welcome, thank you!

Up with the car at three and then quarter past, dp just setting off now for his weekend away that’s been booked ages ago so I have insisted he goes on and he’s just informed me that dd said she wanted to be up at 6 fir some reason or another.
And it’s taking ages to get to sleep as ddad is ill in hospital and not coping very well as he’s confused which in turn makes him scared/anxious and then angryand nasty........which is horrible for the nurses who are doing an amazing job (and makes me more and more angry at the appalling way the NHS and it’s staff are treated).

Homebird8 · 11/10/2019 05:53

DS just popped his head round the door and asked me if I want a cup of tea. I wonder what he wants?

Namechangedtoprotect · 11/10/2019 06:07

Morning all, tea all round. I'm just lying here waiting for it to be a sensible time to get up. Who needs sleep anyway?

Bobthefishermanswife · 11/10/2019 06:08

Oh yes please!! I'll join you and the others!

I'm up feeding my 3 month old and really struggling to keep my eyes open.
He's been sleeping through, but decided that after rolling Wednesday he was going to stay up all night Wednesday night. I was too busy yesterday to catch up on sleep with him, so he's well rested and I'm so so tired, doubt he'll let me nap today 😂

HalyardHitch · 11/10/2019 06:10

STRONG coffee? Been up since 4.30 with the one year old. Who then woke the two year old. Everyone is finally asleep and settled back down so I'm more than ready for a cuppa

happypotamus · 11/10/2019 06:17

I don't even like tea, but, yes, please. I have hardly slept in days and am on the second day of my working 34+hrs over 3 days. I am exhausted and have no idea how to get through the day without crying.

WaynettaSlobOnTheSchoolRun · 11/10/2019 06:17

I've had my first, I might have a second and some toast before leaping into action. Up since just before 5 with the 2yo, NOTHING is pleasing him this morning (although Mr Tumble has stopped the whining temporarily, I swear I would give Justin Fletcher a kidney if he needed one). Half an hour until DD gets up, then once she's at school I need to clean my whole house as we have visitors this weekend. With bad tempered toddler in tow. Joy.

WaynettaSlobOnTheSchoolRun · 11/10/2019 06:18

happypotamus that's a busy few days, what do you do?

Goldensunnydays81 · 11/10/2019 06:23

I woke up at 1.30am! And have just been cleaning downstairs as I think the cat got fleas :( don’t know how as she is flea treated every month!!

curlyLJ · 11/10/2019 06:28

Yes please to tea! I've hardly slept all night and haven't been back to sleep since 5:00 😕
Started a new job 2 days ago and have decided it was a mistake and I don't want it. Need to call first thing and explain because I don't want to go in today - it's been on my mind all night. No idea what I'm going to say...

Bloodybridget · 11/10/2019 06:33

Ah, I woke up at 4 and went downstairs for tea and toast, if I'd known you were up I'd have joined you, Namechanged! Came back to bed at 5.30, turned my light out at 6 but now can't stop coughing, trying a Strepsil. Big sympathy to everyone who's poorly, busy with DCs, cleaning or work - all I have to do today is lounge around and look after myself.

sashh · 11/10/2019 06:39

Hey, do I have to shut my early morning cafe?I have toast and bacon sandwiches, and fancy coffee.

Bobthefishermanswife · 11/10/2019 06:40

Oh bless you @curlyLJ that's one of the worst feelings. Could you just say that you're grateful for the opportunity, but you're sure the job isn't for you and you won't be returning?

Bezalelle · 11/10/2019 06:43

I'll have one! I've dragged myself out of a nice warm bed to go to the gym in the rain.

curlyLJ · 11/10/2019 07:02

@Bobthefishermanswife thank you. Yes I know I need to do that as I really can't go back today. I feel physically sick. I've just posted in chat for help wording the email. I'm so tired I can't think straight now Confused

PotterHead1985 · 11/10/2019 07:07

Awake most of the night in pain. Got up at five for painkillers and been lying here trying to sleep ever since. Need to get up at 8 to get ready as I'm volunteering for a local toddlers group at 9:15. Gah. So tired.

IncrediblySadToo · 11/10/2019 07:13

@curlyLJ 😖what do you do & why is this job SO bad?

@Bezalelle well done you! I used to prefer to go early, but I wake up too sore these days, going for a wee is a trial make the most of your ability to go first thing, even when it’s hirrible dragging yourself out of bed.

SeaSidePebbles · 11/10/2019 07:20

Morning. I’m joining you for a cup of coffee. I’m off to work soon, but my bed is so so comfy!
