What do I want for my birthday?

Birthday in a couple of weeks. I'm very newly pregnant after a loooooong and painful journey and it feels very tentative due to past losses. DH has asked me what I'd like and I can't think of very much at all. Some 'little luxuries' would be nice. Maybe some nice chocs, new slippers...would appreciate some suggestions as I'm not feeling very imaginative and would usually ask for wine, and things I'm not allowed to do like a weekend away walking, climbing and mountain biking...

A cashmere shawl/wrap.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Congratulations! Meal out, or night out at theatre/cinema? Weekend stay somewhere nice?
Perfume/cosmetics? Nice bathrobe or similar?

Ooh theatre or cinema is a good shout.

And thanks for the congrats too! It probably seems quite irrelevant to the birthday issue- I should have said, because it feels so tentative I don't want anything pregnancy related 🙈

A bottle of alcohol free spirits. Seedlip is really interesting.

Alcohol free wine. www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/shop/drinks/low-and-no-alcohol/low-and-no-alcohol-wine/all

Go swimming instead of hiking, but stay out of the spa. Have a fabulous dinner somewhere?

I love a brand new pair of fancy pyjamas. In a million years I would never wear a fleece, but I love a pair of nice fleecy PJs for winter.

Or a pair of sheepskin slippers. Mine are from Shepherd and are gorgeous.

Ooh or some really lovely soft leather gloves for winter.

Im not allowed to swim unfortunately @TwattingDog. It's from our 8th IVF and risk of infection following all the procedures is high. No sex, no exercise, no alcohol... basically no fun 😂. Will be worth it if this one hangs on though.

Just bought a amazon echo show 5 for my mum today and I have to say that I'm a lit bit jealous, I have a dot but I'm definitely putting one of these on my Xmas list.

Then I shall keep everything crossed for you @KatnissMellark!

What about a day for you? Manicure / pedicure if it's your thing, shopping for new slippers and swanky chocolates, Holland and Barratt for the Seedlip spirits, then mocktails somewhere like Turtle Bay?

KatnissMellark · 09/10/2019 19:43

Thanks @Twattingdog. Great suggestion. May slip daytime cinema trip into that as well if we have time!

I was pregnant for my birthday this year and all I wanted (craved) was a really expensive cake, it was delicious Smile
