Ghost stories - the stage show, has anybody seen it?

I'm looking for tickets to take DM to a show. She loves going to the theatre and we usually opt for a musical but she also loves a good horror story and thought this might be a good idea.

However, I booked tickets for earlier in the year to the theatre to a show based on a horror novel and we were both very underwhelmed. It is an expensive night out and the tickets would be a gift so I don't want to go ahead and book if we are to be disappointed again.

So if anyone has seen it, what did you think? Worth going, or should I stick to the musicals? Thank you

I went years ago and absolutely loved it! They created a real sense of fear which was fantastic and unexpected given its a stage show without fancy effects, go for it.

Loved it, my husband still talks about one particularly scary part! Much better than the film version.

Now, I'm too much of a wuss to watch the film, will I actually be able to watch it in the theatre?

For some reason I thought it would be less scary on the stage

I screamed out loud at the stage show. I loved it!

I saw it years ago and saw it again this year. It is excellent and much scarier than the film.

I saw it before the film but they are very different really

The only thing I'd say about the play....I found the noise a bit much. I'm am super sensitive to noise but there were moments where I found it a bit annoying.

I know a couple of people who don't scare easily but did find a couple of things in this show really scared them 😁

It's all looking very positive. Think I might have to book it. And take a really big cushion to hide behind.
