Hi, I wonder if anyone can share their experience of preparing for the 11+. I want to manage my daughter’s expectations in terms of applications: how many and what schools she will have a chance of getting in. For example, she is “very academic” but is not currently in a selective school so there is a huge range of abilities and types of girls where she is and the school hasn’t been directional; it refuses to grade as well so I cannot see where she is relatively. All I have is the national stanine level for English & Maths. What stanine would work for SPGS, or for G&L, for SHHS? Are there plenty of applicants in the top stanine that fail to get into these schools? Also, what temperament works best where ? Which school is best for music and what grade required for likely scholarship? Are there any schools really strong in maths and physics and technology?
