A Christening Gift idea for the baby who has everything??

DH is going to be Godfather.

Baby boy is an only child and the parents are fairly well off.
DH has ruled out buying baby a Bible. I suspect silver picture frames and money boxes are over done.
We don't know the other godparents to ask what they are getting. Do all the other guests bring gifts too? It's our first ever Christening!
What on Earth can we buy? And what's a good budget?
I'm assuming dress code is similar to a wedding but maybe toned down a little ?

My sister bought dd the most beautiful Beatrix Potter collection in a box and it’s the best present dd has ever received. We read them before bed now and she loves them.

Dress code is much more toned down than a wedding. I personally wouldn't like something I have to keep for 18 years, I would worry about losing it. My favourite gift we had at DDs christening was Clark's vouchers for her first pair of shoes!

Theres some lovely beatrix potter book sets out there

We bought our son some trees through the woodland trust, so they grew with him. You get a certificate telling you which plantation thry are in.

We got our god children a lovely complete Chronicles of Narnia book. It has echoes of the Bible but your DH might not object to it!

This is my standard godchild/christening gift too. There’s a beautiful illustrated version with all 7 books.

A compass is a lovely idea! I’m stealing that one.

We bought a hip flask nearly 21 years ago. For the birthday we will buy the booze to go in it.

DS also got a cricket bat from his godfather.

We bought an engraved pocket watch. Thought it was something nice to keep

I know charity gifts aren’t everyone’s thing but when my son was christened his godfather sponsored a child with Action Aid in my son’s name which I found very moving and in keeping with the ethos of having him christened, teaching him about charity etc.

Love the wooden Noah's ark idea.
How about one of those personalised books so child can join Winnie the Pooh on his adventures or Peter Pan in Neverland?
( I LOVED mine as a childSmile)

A napkin ring engraved with an initial or a name? Definitely something to keep and to remember you (as well as a toy perhaps).
