Career advice: children and families

Hi everybody

Sorry to be cheeky but hoping you may be able to help me as I am looking for some career advice. I currently manage a medium sized charity with a focus on support around, but not actually delivering, social care. Increasingly I am keen to move more into the area of support for children and families, mainly as I want to be able to work in a more preventive way.
I have good experience in leadership and management as well as a post graduate public sector management qualification and some experience in children and families but not much. I am trying to think now about how my career might develop in the future and what I can do to develop my skills and experience in the right way to support this. I've had a look at some of the possible qualifications but it is difficult to know which is best, for example to stay quite broad to keep my options open or to really focus in on the area I am most interested in. Does anyone have any experience of moving to a different field within the voluntary sector, and how did you do this? What qualifications in and around children and families do you rate or helped you move into this field?

Sorry, I know this is a bit niche but if anyone can advise, especially based on your own experience, I'd really appreciate it!
