... where would you want it to be?

I’m talking dream weekend destination. I think mine would be Vegas, although long flight for a few nights.

If it were just for a weekend then somewhere like Norway or Sweden would be nice. So beautiful!

Seville is wonderful!

And I'd like to see the northern lights but would probably want to stay at least 4 nights.

I'm a cheap date, Yorkshire or Co Kerry

Amsterdam for Rembrandt, Edinburgh for the views, St Petersburg for the Hermitage, Berlin for the Cold War and Bowie memories.

Dublin, or that place way north in Finland where you can rent a two person ice igloo to watch the northern lights :) (Obvi the kids must be left with their gran for this weekend!)

Are we talking, dream destination as in might not be actually possible?

Because in that case I’d choose New York or Montreal. I don’t like surprises though, so I’d want to have some idea first.

Somewhere I haven't been before like Berlin, Vienna, Prague or Budapest, in fact pretty much any European city.

Would love to go to NY but think I would need a week.

So many places, but at the moment loving the idea of the northern lights in a glass ceiling cabin.

Madrid is fantastic too. I prefer it to Barcelona now.

Venice is the only place left on my bucket list so it would be there.

I would add the Pyramids and a Nile cruise to that but I've sadly had to cross that off as I don't that's going to be safe for many, many years and I'll be too old by the time it is.

Oh and Mykonos - but that's already booked

Oh I wouldn't care! Just the whole 'surprise' and 'trip' would be great for me.

(Although, I'd love to visit in December and go to a country with great Christmas Markets and festivities)

Seville is great for sun & tapas. I've been to Helsinki both in the summer and the winter and enjoyed it both times.

But if if DH were to surprise me it'd have to be somewhere i've never been. Maybe St Petersburg would be nice?

Dh did this. Gave me the details on our 20th wedding anniversary along with a guide book for a trip 6 weeks hence because he knows that part of the joy of travelling for me is the research, planning and anticipating. He absolutely nailed it and we went to Copenhagen which was just fabulous!

Honestly, right now I just want a luxury spa weekend and I don't give a monkeys where it is.

There is an eco cabin that me and DP stayed at recently. I would just have that weekend all over again.

Beautiful mountains. Possibly involving wild camping. I miss wild camping

My friend went on a cruise and one of the ports was st Petersburg
She said it was amazing
She said the same about Bali
She’s very hard to please as well
