Its running club night and I have a stinking cold

I'm generally pretty keen and don't skip
training easily but I'm feeling rough. It's all in my head tbough, not on my chest and the usual advice is that youre ok to run in such circumstances.

Additionally, DS has just started and needs the training for a specific objective - He's less keen and will take any excuse. If I don't go he won't.

I'd really like to go straight to bed when I get home from work but I'll probably be ok once I start running.

Do I go?

The usual advice is the "lower than neck" principle as you rightly point out.

I usually say if you feel ok you can run, if you don't, you can't. You'll know within a few minutes of going out whether you are up to it or not.

(I ran a half marathon with a cold earlier in the year. The race itself was fine, albeit that I had to run it slightly slower than I had hoped. BUT I felt awful for a couple of days afterwards, so please do take it easy and don't do 13 miles!)
