Parents using the other parents address when applying for school places

I am a mother of 2 (aged 11 + 9) I live with my partner who has a young daughter with his previous partner. In a brief conversation she has mentioned to him that she will be using our address when applying for their daughters place at school as we live in the same village. Does anyone know if she can do this, i am just worried there could be some repercussions with any benefits she may be claiming or when it comes to our tenancy agreement with our housing association as the only children listed as living with us are mine.

I was always under the impression that they had to be registered at school with the parent they spend the majority of their nights with, same for dentist, doctors etc. Although i know you can explain in the school application process that as parents you are separated.

Unless it is the main residence for the child it can’t be used.

If the child isn't mainly resident with you it is fraud.
She risks the place being withdrawn when discovered.

I had a feeling this was the case. Will she be found out if she did this without our knowledge ?

What about when there is a 50/50 shared care order?

If genuinely 50-50 then I think it is where more school nights are or where child benefit goes to.

in the instance of a 50/50 care order you have to put the address where the child benefit is being claimed

My partner has his daughter 3 days per week 1/2 days and once over night! she will have child benefit claims, universal credit claims etc so she cant use our address for the sake of getting the school you want surly
