Wheelchair/scooter users... after waterproof winter coat recommendations please!

It’s that time of year again where the “big” coat needs to come out! I use my scooter for dog walking, and I’m fed up with whatever coat I wear riding up and bunching around my middle! I prefer a longer length coat (keeps the bum warm), but, even my Trespass one with a 2 way zip managed to hutch up to the point my lower half is cold and my upper half looks like the Michelin man Grin

Any recommendations please from others who have a similar problem? I’m also on the larger size (18-20) so need plenty of room.

Many thanks in advance :)

Would a waterproof poncho work for you, wear with warm trousers? Or perhaps a short coat with waterproof trousers with a thermal lining?

I’m not sure how I feel about a poncho to be honest - a lot of the ones for wheelchair users just look a bit “old lady” and I don’t know I’m ready for that Grin I’ve got a shorter jacket but I’m struggling to find decent lined waterproof trousers that fit whilst sitting down without giving me a builders bum!

My son has a waterproof leg cover for use in his wheelchair that we got from amazon. Goes from hips to feet, a bit like a cosy toes but not bulky.

He also doesn't like the poncho type covers but will put up with the leg one for the sake of not having soggy legs.

Have you got one of those leg coat things? More tube than blanket, but zips up?

Would an adjustable waist help keep the coat from riding up? Like this one from Lands' End.

Not a wheelchair or scooter user but used to work outdoors in winter. I bought a North Face jacked which DH baulked at the cost, but it's the warmest coat I have ever owned.
I have a shorter one but there are knee length versions and if you live anywhere near an outlet they can be a lot cheaper.

Thanks all, some good ideas here :)
