Looked at shard, novelty is view and height but reviews mixed and prices too high for a bad experience.

Looked at suck and waffle and similar... Mixed reviews unpleasant service.

Thinking of boat maybe?

Or rules in Covent garden... Or perhaps a wow cream tea instead in incredible memorable place

Or somewhere with tons of atmosphere. Ideally Greek place smashing or belly dancer would be fun but latest feasibly eat with dc is 8.

Inamo. Definitely! There are three in London.
Each table has an interactive surface, basically like a large iPad. You can draw on your table, play interactive games such as battleships with the rest of the people dining with you, change the colour and mood of the area around your table and check out the local area. One of the coolest features is the chef-cam which allows you to watch your food being prepared.
The food is a fusion of Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Thai. There are many large sharing platters in the menu, but they do a tasting menu as well with 6 small dishes per person. There's a children's menu with some simple dishes like BBQ vegetable noodles, spring roll and Korean chicken wings.
Also in Soho is HipChips, a restaurant dedicated entirely to the humble crisp. Platters of crisps served with a large choice of inventive dips, both savoury and sweet!
Also the T Rex Grill, but haven’t been there personally yet www.benugo.com/partnerships/public-spaces/museums/natural-history-museum/t-rex-grill

Rice, we have been to inamo and all loved it 😁.

But for the big bday I was thinking of a more wow or different venue... But trying to be good and special enough for 4oth but also to accommodate dc...

Benihana? Genuinely delicious food and show cooking.
Depending how adventurous the kids are Archipelago is amazing and unforgettable.

Iced, I think benhina could be the one.
Archaeology looks amazing too but perhaps when youngest is older.

Do all tables see the chef 'show' at benehna!?!

Yes, each table has (I think) about 8 seats in a U shape around a hibachi grill, so you are super close to the action.

You can see the set up in this video
